Argentine cartoonist Quino, creator of Mafalda comic, dies at 88
Argentine cartoonist Joaquin Salvador Lavado, who created the beloved comic strip Mafalda, has died aged 88, his publisher announced Wednesday.
My daughters' middlenames are Mafalda and Libertad. No need to say more.
Some of my strongest convictions were forged at times when, as a kid, I read, re-read and re-re-read Mafalda and her gang's stories. Also I regularly borrowed Quino's other books from our local public library.
Damn. This makes me sad.
