When I started my car today, the onboard computer did not start. It seemed to be in a kind of bootloop mode, with the CD reader making loading noises every 30 seconds. Woohoo.
I did a little internet research and read that it was a common problem. Some people said that they had to go to their authorized dealer, which charged 90 EUR just for the diagnosis and then offered various solutions from 150 to 900 EUR. Ouch. Some other people though, said that the DIY mode could be a suitable and cheaper option. Much better. So I gave it a try.
After downloading a *.rar file on a doubtful website, I extracted its content in a USB key, which I plugged in the slot my car has, and started the engine. After 20 minutes, the firmware was reinstalled, even upgraded actually, and I got a fully fonctionnal onboard system. Definitely worth the shot.
